“As a marriage and family therapist for over 40 years, I have learned that recovery from most emotional and behavioral problems is not only possible, but is very likely with an effective therapeutic partnership. My experience with the human capacity to change, and my commitment to offering people this opportunity, culminated in the decision to partner with Kathy Levenston, LCSW, in Richmond, VA to form Help Your Way.”
Arnold has worked with mental health agencies and practitioners in Virginia and throughout the United States providing training in “Feedback Informed Treatment,” an approach to mental health treatment that gives the customer’s voice and opinions a leading role in guiding the course of therapy.
“This focus on the quality of the therapeutic partnership and the close tracking of results to guide treatment are the fundamental principles of Help Your Way. This is also the culmination of over 90 years of clinical research on what works in therapy. Feedback informed treatment has been shown to lower costs, improve outcomes, and reduce treatment failures and dropouts.”
Arnold has held clinical leadership posts in both mental health and child welfare settings. He is a former Director of Mental Health Services for Prince William County, Virginia, and currently serves as the president of the Virginia Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Arnold is also a Member of the International Society for Ethical Psychology and Psychiatry , and a Member of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
